With the kind of perfect summer morning that we love and live for, we got together with the winners of our MAX Type 1 farewell event contest to say “goodbye” to Train “101” on July 8, 2025 at our Ruby Junction Rail Operating Facility in Gresham. After 38 years of service and 2.2 million miles traveled (!), the train is being retired, so we decided to celebrate it being donated to the Oregon Electric Railway Museum in Brooks, Oregon with a little party with its biggest fans.

This vehicle was designed and built in 1983 and went into service in 1986.
